Care Instructions

Your bikinis and figure suits are 100% hand-made and considered delicate items. It needs to be hand-washed and extra care is needed when handling and storing. Please follow the below instructions and if there is anything else you would like to know, please do not hesitate to contact us.

VERY IMPORTANT
DO NOT
  • Machine wash (even with delicate or hand-wash cycle)
  • Dry clean
  • Use any harsh cleaning product like any alcohol base cleaning product to try to remove stubborn stains
  • Soak you suit
  • Make sure you completely finish cleaning the first piece first before putting another piece into the water. This is to reduce the unnecessary amount of time that the garment is soaked in the water.

You may find that the glue used on crystal swells up and turn white after the suit is wet for a while. Do not panic and DO NOT try to remove it and do not touch the glue. Handle the suit very carefully so you don't lose any crystals. Once your suit is completely dry, the white glue will disappear and look like new again.

How to clean your competition bikini

WHAT YOU'LL NEED WHEN WASHING YOUR SUIT
  • Liquid detergent - We don't recommend powder detergent because not all powder dissolves in water quickly and they may get stuck inside the gaps between crystals or extra padding pocket. This will become quite tricky to remove resulting in the suit being in water for longer than recommended. This will cause damage to the fabric and crystal work.

  • A sink with water tap.

  • A soft bristle toothbrushto remove any stains or dirt that is stuck in small gaps of the connectors or crystals, andon the inside of the suit.

  • Some paper towel to pat and absorb the excess water after rinsing. A towel will also work but we find paper towel can absorb more water from the suit.

CLEANING INSTRUCTION
  1. Remove all parts that are removable e.g. extra padding material, removable straps or connectors or accessories. We don’t recommend washing everything if not necessary. Put them aside.

  2. Mix a tablespoon full of liquid detergent with about 3 liters of cold water in the sink. You may need more detergent depending on amount of tan residue on your suit

  3. Place the first piece of your suit into the water. Use the brush to gently remove the stains. It is ok if you need more detergent in order to spot clean a particular area but make sure you use a small amount at a time so it doesn't take longer than necessary to rinse.

  4. Only clean the dirty spots to save time. Try not to spend longer than 3 minutes in cleaning your crystal suit.

  5. Take the garment out of the water and gently squeeze the water out with two hands pressing against each other. DO NOT TWIST.

  6. Turn on the tap, rinse the garment under the tap and squeeze the garment as recommended above while being under running water. Do this for one minute and again gently squeeze the excess water out again.

  7. With 5-6 layers of paper towel place flat on the floor, put the garment on top and place another 5-6 layers on top and slowly and gently press it down for the paper to absorb the water. Repeat as necessary before laying flat on top of a towel or hang to dry in a shade.

  8. Repeat from step 3 on the other piece of garment.

SOME TIPS
  • Always try to wash your suit as soon as possible after a show. The longer you leave it, the harder it is for the tan residue to come off.

  • Be very very gentle.

  • Try to be as quick as you can.

  • It is almost impossible to completely clean the tan residue and have your suit back in the as new condition again because of limited time you have in cleaning the suit. The longer you take to clean the suit, the more likely the crystal work is going to get damaged.

  • Use as much paper towel as needed. The less time it takes for the suit to dry the better.

  • Do not dry the suit under direct sun. Instead, pick a warm but shady spot to leave you suit to dry.

  • Turn the suit over when one side is dry to speed up the drying process.

  • Wait until your suit is fully dry before storing your suit. Do not use a hair-dryer or other heat-generating appliances as it may ruin the embellishments.

HOW TO STORE YOUR SUIT

Store your suit in a dry box or the Muscle Dazzle box that came with the suit. Make sure your suit is completely dry before wrapping it loosely with soft tissue paper (such as the tissue paper that came with your suit originally, or alternatively paper towels).

Store your costume in a box until your next show. We don't recommend hanging your costume in your wardrobe due to moisture and dust that could get on it while waiting for the next use
